Overview of the Tour
Our tour begins just outside of Madison in the "driftless region" of southwestern Wisconsin. This unglaciated landscape is now highly eroded, displaying rolling hills with steep ravines of exposed limestone and sandstone bedrock. This unique environment greatly contributes to architectural styles in the region, exemplified by the vernacular architecture of the small towns and farms that dot the landscape.
